Re-staking! The base that Eigen stands on. Take the Eth you own and turn it into an even more productive asset. Staking can be broken into two camps, the Liquid Staking Derivative/Token (LSD or LST) and native re-staking through the Eigen Pods. This guide will cover native re-staking.

To natively re-stake you MUST be running an ethereum validator with 32 eth staked. The guide below is simply taking your validator and pointing it toward Eigen Layers smart contracts.

If you are deploying new validators and want to seamlessly restake, provision withdrawal credentials directly to your EigenPod OR with 0x00 then repoint to your EigenPod

Step 1:  Open the EigenLayer App and connect your Web3 wallet, making sure you are connected to Ethereum main net.

Step 2: Click Create Pod: 

If successful, you should receive the following confirmation:

Click Pod Details to view your EigenPod address:

The address creating the EigenPod in Step 2 is responsible for all subsequent restaking and withdrawal operations from that EigenPod.

Copy this address.

Step 3: Repoint Validator’s Withdrawal Credentials

Validators should not direct execution rewards to their Eigenpod. For the moment these will be withdrawable but in the future (when proofs are enabled) these funds may be irretrievably stuck.
